Film screening featuring 10 powerful poems.  The film-makers will be on hand to explain how they turned each poem into a gripping visual piece that matches intensive imagery to the rhythm of the words.

2.00 pm:  Time, Gentlemen, Please’ – Armistice Tales from the Trenches

Dr Simon Walker of the University of Strathclyde walks us through the trenches as we explore how soldiers responded to news of the Armistice – from disbelief and detachment to shock and jubilation.

Living history experts occupy the trenches and answer your questions about life as a soldier serving in the First World War.

All Day:  Make a Poppy

Make a poppy (of any colour) to commemorate those who were affected by WWI.
